I always come back, but I never stay long. Livejournal, I think, deserves a lot more tender, love and care than I give to it. I'm not sure if there is any point though. Is there really anyone that is a lj specific correspondent with me? Is this the first that you have heard from me in 2 years? Really. Let me know.

I must admit. It's fun to come back to the place where my online addiction probably laid it's roots. Joy.

I can't really use words to explain how nice it was to see my friends again. You are all so beautiful, inspiring and intelligent on so many different levels. I hope that you haven't forgotten this.

A special thank you to Phil for housing us, being the nap time dj, and for all of the free music that I magically have on my ipod now.

I have photo's that will be posted soon.

I want to come back

My friend Kate and I are gonna come to Pittsburgh tomorrow. We'll be there until Sunday. If you live in that city, and are reading this, I want to see/hug/hold/spoon/wrestle you.

I'm not sure where I am staying.

I've taken a few trips and bought a few albums since my last post. I'm pretty sure that grants me posting rights. The most recent being a trip to Chicago this past weekend. The reasoning circled around my BFfHS's wedding. It started off strange though.

While taking the Metra out to where I was staying we hit and killed a human. Crazy, scary and mostly sad. Most likely suicide. At this point it was about 1:15 AM and were instructed by the police to stay at the scene for 2.5 hours. I ended up getting home around 5 am. Here is the article on the incident. [article]

Changing gears. The wedding itself went really well and I had a great time. This was the first time that I was actually in the wedding party. Fun!

I've been to Chicago 3 times in the past 5 weeks. Way to much, really. Unless, of course, I actually lived there. Which would be fine. Here are a few more typical photos.

This weekend I am off to Minneapolis for an Adobe Flash convention. 4 days of sweetness. Plus I am staying with an old high school friend. Should be interesting I suppose.

In the near future I have yet another Chicago visit and a very anticipated Pittsburgh/Boston trip lined up. So many faces.

As for albums:: Explosions in the Sky (All of a...),Bright Eyes EP (Four Winds), Feist (The Reminder), Saves the Day (Through Being Cool), From ATA (Too Bad Your Beautiful). All fantastic. I am 5 for 5 for the months of May and June.

DONE.

first post at work [Apr. 5th, 2007|03:31 pm]
I would consider this a definite sign of becoming comfortable at work. Two weeks ago I would have never considered logging into livejournal/myspace/facebook at the office. I suppose it was inevitable.

In about 18 hours I will be climbing onto a train and letting it take me to Union Station in Chicago. I'm looking forward to the time alone on the train and in the city but am mostly excited about visiting my high school friend Matt and his fiancee. Saturday is going to be a long day of museums and/or shopping. On Sunday we are going to the **looks around shamefully** White Sox vs Twins game. We are kinda going to freeze to death. Monday morning I am just planning on getting dropped off in the city and hanging out until my train leaves at 6pm. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I could spend 8-10 hours on Monday, in Chicago, do share.

I was inspired by the back-to-back posts from Nate and Erin.

Some things have happened over the past 2 or 3 months that I'd like to share. Lately I've been into short form listing with annoying, bandwidth eating supplement photos. So here we go.

- Final day at the beloved gas station. These two guys actually made it pretty tough to quit working there. Jonathan and Brent are sweet, no doubt.

- My sister killing me. We have actually been hanging out a lot over the past few months. She is seriously the coolest 9-year-old that I know.

- This is the office dog at my new job. His name is Caribou and he is just 4 months old. Most of the time he just sleeps next to the printers. I certainly like him.

- Last weekend my cousin Brandon won his match at the MI/D4/State finals. I don't normally enjoy wrestling but it was really exciting to watch him take on these kids that were 2 or 3 years older than him and actually kick their asses. The team ended up taking 1st in the state. (Addison High School)

- I drive over 3.5 hours, to and from work, a day. Sometimes I take photos of other drivers and even myself to help stay awake. It's really lame and I often give myself some shit about it. Dork.

- About a week ago or so I saw Pelican and The Russian Circles in Ann Arbor. I went with Kristin and her friend/my new friend, Nikkia. To my surprise I ran across my ex-lover...i mean roommate, Blake. I wanted to give him a hard time about how good the Pistons are doing right now but he behaved himself. Chris Webber is sweet, still. Also, in the sweet category, The Russian Circles. Love them.

That's all. If I went to bed right now I would get 4 hours of sleep. That is fine except that Conan just came on. Goodie!

BLAKE. Where will you be viewing the games on Tuesday and Wednesday night? Kristina and I will be in Lansing on both evenings and would love to join you for one.

I am currently watching the original Scream and feel like I am in 9th grade all over again. It is fan-tas-tic. For what it is, 90210 gone horror-pop, the trilogy isn't all that bad, really. In fact, watching the original might even suck me into 2 & 3. You never, never know.

Bed before 3am. I'm doing pretty well for myself.

tigers = world series.

tie game, bottom of the 9th, two outs, home run, soooo awesome.

I think that I will be taking off a few nights from work over the next couple weeks. I don't want to miss any of this.

i'd like to see them play the Mets. That would be fantastic.

I wanted to be like Erin. Also, taking 37 minutes to create an animated me was super cool.

19 years is a long time. [Sep. 25th, 2006|02:10 am]
[mood | awake]

I haven’t been able to sleep very well for the past two months. No matter what time I have to wake up in the morning---or how ever much activity I had throughout the day---I still end up being awake until about 3am. I was thinking that I'm not in college any more and that I don't work 3rd shift so this isn't cool and something needs to happen. I need to be cured.

My natural reaction is to visit google.com and type in "sleeping tips"

After reading the top 5 tips to a good nights rest I now I have a glass of milk, a turkey sandwich and am writing down my thoughts. If all goes according to plan, I will be sleeping within 15 minutes.

Truth be told, I know that a lot of this has to do with the following things.
- Discontentment with myself. I just get down when I look at missed opportunities.
- Anxiety about the band. We lost two members at pretty much the worst time possible. With a small recording deal in place and touring plans on the agenda this has pretty much kicked us right in the teeth. I get exhausted at the thought of finding replacements...I get pissed off at the thought of not at least trying.
- Financial blahs. Everyone ha$ them. I'm no different.

Well, I should be getting veerrryyy sleeeepppy right about now.

blackout.

Do I have social anxiety issues during family gatherings? Yes, I do. STILL. 24 years old. What the hell is wrong with me? I keep walking around the house, looking out windows, not looking at people and getting on the internet downstairs to post about it.

grow up.

I just witnessed a blue jay attacking a robin. Nature is so peaceful.

Over the past two weeks I have been working out w/ Kristina pretty intensely. Intense for out of shape people, any way. 3 miles of running a day along with some weight lifting on days that we can sneak into the high school. I feel better and have hope that I won't end up being an out of shape, over weight, white American by age 30.

Also, ive been considering the idea of traveling alone for 2 months in the summer of 2008. Kristina will be in Equator and I really do not want to be chillin in Jackson during that time. I want to go east and be with the people that I used to know pretty well.

Okay, good, a post.

ps. If you are down with any of these titles take a look at the auction as I continue my quest to sell everything that I own. All albums are in good and working condition.
